The Health of the Bindery Industry

Today's Health of the Bindery Industry is resting on many different factors. Postal Regulations, Advertisers, Newspapers health, Green Initiatives, Internet, and many, many more. Over the last month and the coming month's lets hope for the tide to continue to rise.

Wire Guides and Formers

Wire guides and formers are an intricate part of any type of stitcher head. For the most part I recommend running 23 Gauge parts on any job. This would be true if you are running 24 gauge wire all the way up to 25 Gauge wire. This gives you more of a tolerance to switching wire especially if you shop is running both 24 and 25 Gauge on jobs.

A-1 Bindery Service Tip of The Month

The health of your wire guide spring is critical to the success of your stitching operation. After time your wire guide spring will wear and deteriorate at the wire contact points. This will look like flat spots and uneven grooves in your wire guide spring. These grooves and flat spots will cause wire shavings, wire dust, other fine metallic scrapings to clog your tubes, guides, and formers. This is happening because the stitching wire is being rubbed or scraped causing the wire to flake and peel. If you have any issues described above give this a shot.
